Two men are in custody after San Luis Obispo Police responded to a report of a burglary alarm at the SLO Elks Lodge #322 located at 222 Elks Lane.
According to SLOPD, they received the call around 4:08 a.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed a flashlight moving around within the business.
Officers covered all exits and caught Trevor Ray Johnson, 24, of Los Osos while fleeing the building. Police say Johnson was wearing rubber gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints at the scene of the crime. Johnson was transported and booked at the SLO County Jail for burglary and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $20,000.
While at the scene of the burglary, officers discovered a person sitting in the car on the Elks Lodge property. During the police contact, officers checked for warrants on the suspect who was identified as Brandon Foster, 29, of SLO. Foster had outstanding warrants and was taken into custody.
Investigators discovered Foster was a former Elks Lodge member. Police are still investigating his involvement with the burglary. Foster was transported to county jail for five warrants with bail totaling $50,000.
