Two women from Woodland now face charges in connection with an early morning incident that transpired on November 8 during which a stolen car’s driver was injured.
Two Woodland police officers were called about 6 am to the 1600 block of Ashley Avenue. The victim had interrupted the theft. He detained one suspect; the other fled in his car after hitting the victim.
Police found the car abandoned nearby. Officers quickly tracked down the second suspect, said Woodland Police Lieutenant Anthony Cucchi.
The suspects–Marissa Elwanda Price, 20, and Venessa Marie McKee Salazar, 22, — were both booked into Yolo County Jail. Price, who ran into the victim, faces the additional charge of hit-and-run causing injury. Salazar was also arrested in August in Woodland for being under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia. Records show an August 2010 arrest for burglary and possession of stolen property as well.
