Three robbery suspects are reportedly in custody thanks to the combined efforts of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and Roseville Police Department, according to official statements from both organizations.
Devin Matthew Alix, 19, of Roseville was reportedly arrested and charged with felony robbery and felony evading a police officer. Carlos Antonio Jaquez, 26, of Sacramento was charged with felony robbery and felony possession of stolen property. And Serina Miller, 18, of Citrus Heights was charged with felony robbery and felony conspiracy. All three suspects were booked in the Sacramento County Main Jail.
According to Sac Sheriff, at about 6:30 pm on Sunday, November 30, dispatch received a call from an adult male in his early 20s reporting he had been robbed of his cell phone and cash near Elverta Road and Walerga Road, which is located in Antelope. He reportedly indicated he “sort of” knew the suspects.
Sac Sheriff officers reportedly came across a vehicle fitting the description given near Tupelo Drive and Roseville Road, located in Sacramento. Officers attempted to initiate a vehicle stop, however, the driver — later identified as Alix — did not stop, and a short pursuit began up into the Roseville area.
According to Roseville PD, the pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed through a wall of a house in the 1000 block of Haman Way. Fortunately no one was reportedly home in the house at the time, and no one was hurt.
The suspect reportedly fled into the neighborhood, and officers from Sacramento County, CHP, Placer County and Roseville, along with a law enforcement helicopter, quickly surrounded the neighborhood to search for the suspect. An hour into the search, a Roseville PD officer found the suspect hiding in some bushes in the 800 block of Micro Court, and he was taken into custody without further incident and turned over to Sac Sheriff.
The additional two suspects were reportedly apprehended by Sacramento Sheriff’s deputies. There were no injuries to the robbery victim or suspects.
All three suspects have been in other recent trouble with the law. Devin Alix was arrested August 5 for possession of a switchblade knife as well as a probation violation, and then again a month later on an outstanding warrant. Carlos Jaquez was charged on October 25 for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or co-habitant (domestic violence) as well as vandalism, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia, and possession for sale, and for giving false information to a peace officer. He faced similar charges prior to that, dating back to October 2013. Additional records show several more arrests dating back to 2007 for various theft and drug charges. Serina Miller was arrested on September 24 for possession of a narcotic controlled substance and a probation violation.
