FRESNO – Police arrested a man they believe to be involved in the shooting of three people in mid-November.
The first shooting happened near the 3000 block of East Floradora Avenue. The two victims were near their car when a man got out of a white Chevy Cobalt and began shooting at them. The victims told police that the man shot two or three times and then drove away in the Cobalt, heading west.
A few minutes later, a victim walking near Floradora and Angus avenues was shot by occupants of a Cobalt.
Police attempted to pull over a white Chevy Cobalt near Cedar and Tulare avenues just after 10 p.m. that same night. Authorities said that one of the passengers, Andres Rivera, dropped a loaded .380 handgun while attempting to run. He was arrested on charges of gun possession.
The driver of the Cobalt drove away, while another passenger escaped on foot, police said.
Rivera was arrested again on Monday after he was identified as the alleged shooter in the November incidents. Rivera was booked into the Fresno County Jail on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
