FRESNO – A man and his girlfriend were arrested last week for allegedly abusing the man’s 5-year-old daughter, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
On December 18, deputies responded to an apartment complex in the 3500 block of N. Pleasant Ave. in Fresno after a man living there reported that his stepdaughter had numerous bruises on her body.
During their investigation, deputies determined that the injuries happened during a recent stay at the home of the girl’s biological father, 28-year-old Joshua Goff.
Goff and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Jenna Havlik, allegedly hit the child and caused bruising on both her back and head. The couple made up several stories when questioned by deputies about the injuries.
Goff and Havlik were arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on child abuse charges.
The child is expected to be okay and is staying with her mother and stepfather. The investigation on the matter is still open.
