ELK GROVE—Elk Grove Police are investigating a double shooting at a gas station on Sunday, January 4, where two men were shot by the people they rode with.
The shooting occurred at the AM/PM gas station located in the 8400 block of Elk Grove Boulevard near the Elk Grove Auto Mall on Sunday at approximately 6:20 p.m.
“Six individuals were inside a vehicle—a blue four-door sedan—that pulled into the AM/PM Arco gas station,” said Elk Grove Police Spokesman Christopher Trim.
Police said some sort of altercation occurred inside the car. Two men got out of the vehicle and that is when police say they were shot by the men inside. The two victims fled the vehicle and the four assailants fled the scene in the vehicle and were last seen going south on Highway 99.
The victims were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to survive. They were not forthcoming in giving information to police about what happened. They were later identified as Larry James and Christopher Jones, both 20, according to Elk Grove News. The only description of the 4 suspects was that they were African-American men.
