FRESNO – A man believed to be responsible for the 2012 murder of a 28-year-old man was arrested on Saturday in the small town of Truckee.
Police believe that 33-year-old McKinley Calvin Williams is responsible for the shooting death of Johnnie Massey, of Fresno, on April 20, 2012. Massey was found shot at 3:20 a.m. in a hotel parking lot in the 3000 block of North Parkway Drive in Fresno. He died at Community Regional Medical Center.
Williams was arrested in Truckee after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Donner Lake. Williams, who is also wanted for murder in Florida, gave officers a false name. A search of his vehicle turned up more than 100 credit cards, prepaid cash cards, gift cards, altered debit cards, and some marijuana, police said.
A passenger in the car, 23-year-old Karion Bickham, was arrested on several fraud-related charges.
Police said that the two suspects were likely on a fraudulent shopping spree when they traveled through Truckee.
