San Luis Obispo parole agents have a parolee in custody after he was declared at-large.
According to the San Luis Obispo Police, they were notified by California State Parole agents on Wednesday morning regarding a violent convicted sex offender, Avril King.
According to the parole agents, King cut off his GPS ankle bracelet around 4 a.m. that day and was believed to be in the SLO area. Agents discovered King’s bracelet in the Mission area near downtown SLO.
According to SLOPD, King was convicted for a 2008 violent sexual assault which occurred in SLO. King was sentenced to eight years in prison for this offense, in which he served six years of his sentence at Wasco State Prison before being released on November 27, 2014.
Shortly after King’s initial release, he violated his parole by cutting off his ankle bracelet and was sent back to state prison for the maximum term of six months.
King was again released on March 9 and had been living at Sunny Acres on Los Osos Valley Road before he left for unknown reasons. A few hours after the alert, King was located in San Luis Obispo by parole agents. He was taken into custody without incident.
