Stabbing Results in Three Family Members Arrested for Assault in San Rafael
SAN RAFAEL – Shortly after midnight, Monday March 23, San Rafael Police Department (SRPD) Officers responded to a stabbing at a 7-Eleven store at 80 Medway Road in the Canal neighborhood of San Rafael.
When officers arrived on the scene all the suspects and victims were still present. Three suspects were immediately detained. Officers learned that a male victim had an altercation with one of the suspects as they passed through the front doors of the store. The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.
The suspect’s parents also got involved in the assault on the victim. The suspect’s father struck the stabbing victim with a tire iron and the suspect’s mother assaulted and battered the victim, as well as a female victim.
The male victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for the stab wound, which was considered a non-life threatening injury. The female victim of the assault was not treated for any injury relating to the assault.
The stabbing suspect was identified as Michael Arnoldo Calderon, 22. He was arrested and charged for assault with a deadly weapon and for an assault with great bodily injury.
The suspect’s father was arrested and identified as Arnoldo Mazariegos Calderon, 50. He was charged for assault with a deadly weapon. The suspect’s mother was identified as 47-year-old Ambrocia Concepcion Calderon. She was arrested for battery. All three suspects reside at a home in Richmond, across the bay from San Rafael. They were booked into the Marin County Jail. Bail amounts and a complete listing of charges have not been published at this time.
