HAWTHORNE, CA—Is telling a cop one is in sales, after getting arrested for grand theft auto, drug possession and the intent to sell the stolen vehicle and drugs, mean that person is going to get into stand-up comedy?
Manuel Antonio Delfin, 50, was arrested by Hawthorne police officers on Wednesday, March 25 at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Imperial Highway at Dalerose Avenue just south of the 405. The Lawndale salesman was charged with grand theft auto (487(D)PCGTA), possession of a controlled substance for sale (1378HS), transporting/selling controlled substances (11379(A)HS, taking a vehicle without owning it (10851(A)VC, receiving known stolen property/vehicle/trailer/construction equipment (496D(A)PC, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia (11364HS), identity theft involving 10 or more other persons’ identification (530.5(C)PC) and possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm (11370.1AHS).
He also had an outstanding warrant from Gardena PD for driving without a license.
The total bail was set at $195,250. The largest single bail amount was $50,000 for the firearm possession and the lowest amount was $250 for paraphernalia possession.
Whatever he plans to do next, he’ll probably have a lot of time to hone his skills while sitting in jail.
