SACRAMENTO—One man was killed and three others were injured after gunfire was reported at a liquor store in South Sacramento on Wednesday, April 8.
Sacramento County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the shooting that happened at the A1 Market & Liquor Store on the 6600 block of Sunnyslope Drive near Lindale, at approximately 10 p.m. on Wednesday. The market is located in a mixed commercial and residential area near Florin Road and Stockton Blvd. Deputies responded after receiving a silent holdup alarm that was activated from the counter. Witnesses also told deputies they heard as many as 13 shots fired in the area, and two vehicles were seen speeding away from the scene. It is unclear if the vehicles were involved in the shooting.
Sacramento County Sheriff’s Sergeant Lisa Bowman said a black man in his early 20s was pronounced dead by medical personnel at the scene in the parking lot of the strip mall. His identity will be released pending notification of next of kin.
Detectives also found two other adult males with related non life-threatening gunshot wounds. A fourth injured victim was found at the scene, but his injury was not a result of the gunfire.
