El CAJON – An argument that escalated from verbal to physical left one man seriously injured and sent the suspect to jail.
According to the San Diego police, the incident occurred just after 2 a.m. on Friday, April 24 near the 4100 block of El Cajon Blvd. This area is in San Diego’s up-and-coming Normal Heights district, which has been steadily improving since the 1980’s and is now better known for antique shops and restaurants than road rage. According to the police statement, the 29 year old victim and the 20 year-old suspect were arguing in a parking lot, when the suspect got into his car and reversed at a high rate of speed into the victim.
The suspect fled the scene, but later returned after the police had arrived, and was promptly arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The victim was transported to an area hospital with both a head injury and a broken foot.
It isn’t clear what started the fight, or if the suspect and victim knew one another prior. The names of the suspect and victim have yet to be released and the incident is still under investigation.
