20-year-old Daniel Ray Galindo was arrested by San Jose Police Officers for two counts of robbery under PC 211/212.5(a).
It was found that in the early morning hours of Friday, April 10, Galindo had knocked on the door of an unsuspecting victim at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, located at 1355 North 4th Street, Room #217. Once the victim opened the door, Galindo demanded money while pushing the female victim to the ground. Another male victim was still inside the bathroom, and initially did not know about the attack. When he came out, Galindo reportedly threatened to kill the woman.
When officers responded to the scene, a security guard pointed them to two men fighting in the back of the hotel, where the suspect was saying, “Give me my money, (redacted)!”.
Police located Galindo on top of the other man. After ending the fight, the female victim, who had remained in the lobby after making the report, was taken to the area and positively identified the male suspect as the one who had robbed her. She wanted her property returned, and they were able to give her back her purse, cell phone, backpack and $550 in cash they had taken from her by force.
When officers spoke to the victim she told them that the suspect had pushed his way into the hotel room. The male victim came out from the bathroom to find the suspect behind the female victim who was on her knees, as he threatened “he’d blow off her head”. He was holding a metal object to the back of her head acting as if he had a gun.
Court documents revealed a letter written to the victim by the defendant, which read “My name is Daniel and I am very sorry for robbing you lady’s of your money.” Galindo explained that the reason why he had robbed the victim was that “I’ve been fired from my lost job, and kicked out of my house.” Galindo also reportedly told authorities that he was greatly sorry for what he had done.
His next court date for the robbery has been scheduled for May 8 at 9:00 AM in Dept 30, where is scheduled to enter a plea.
