Ventura County – On May 9th, the victim of a street robbery and assault found himself under the medical care of the staff at Santa Paula Hospital, and being questioned by detectives from the Fillmore Police Department, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Gang Unit, and the VCSD Major Crimes Bureau pursuant to the injuries he had sustained.
According VCSD spokesman Sgt. Anthony Aguirre, “the victim was assaulted and robbed of his prescription medication and money.” Detectives also confirmed that the victim knew his two assailants, and identified them as Madera, California resident Fernando Vasquez, 35, and Tiffany Limon, a 34-year-old resident of Fillmore.
With that information in hand, Limon was located at her home, where she was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, charged with robbery and being under the influences of a controlled substance, with her bail set at $55,000.
Within 48 hours, detectives “received information” indicating that Vasquez was on board an Amtrak train headed for Madera. A simple phone call to the Amtrak Police Department led to Vasquez’s arrest at the Hanford, Ca. train station by local police officers. Several hours later, detectives from the VCSD Major Crimes Bureau arrived in Hanford themselves, whereupon Vasquez was arrested and hauled back to the Ventura County Jail for booking on charges of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy. He remains in custody on a no-bail hold.
