INGLEWOOD — It seems as if a brave new world of bizarre sets of criminal charges is occurring.
Victorio Ibarra, 49, was apprehended by Inglewood police officers on Saturday, May 9 at approximately 2:45 a.m. along the 4800 block of West Century Boulevard. The unemployed man was charged with planting/cultivating marijuana (11358HS), possession of marijuana less than 28.5 grams (11357(B)HS), possession of a controlled substance (11378HS), driving at unsafe speeds (22350VC) and the clincher that may well have led to all the aforementioned charges: failure to use a turn signal (22107VC).
Bail for the five charges was set at $40,140. The single largest amount was $30,000 for the controlled substance charge and the single lowest amount was $35 each for the turn signal and 28.5 grams possession charges.
The lesson is clear: the next time one runs the risk of getting charged with multiple drug charges, signal when required.
