Early Morning Raid Lands Family In Jail
The Hollister Police Department along, with the San Benito County’s United Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET), arrested a family after an early morning raid produced a large amount of marijuana. Arrested were 45-year-old Sandra Guadalupe Lozoya, 45-year-old Triney Rodriguez Hernandez, Sandra’s 18-year-old son Christopher, and a 15-year-old juvenile child.
Hollister Police Officer Michael Paddy was investigating recent drug sales to high school students when his investigation led him to suspect that the drugs were being sold out of a house on Victoria Street. The home is just a few blocks from San Benito High School, as well as Rancho San Justo Middle School.
As the department’s School Resource Officer, Paddy obtained a search warrant for the home. He, with the assistance from the UNET team, conducted the early morning raid on May 13. Upon entering the house, police found an adult couple and two of the woman’s children residing in the residence.
The officers found large amounts of marijuana located in several different areas of the home, and a strong odor of marijuana lingered throughout the house. The search also produced scales and packaging material.
Guarding the house was an aggressive pit bull terrier dog, but officers were able to conduct the search without harming him. Animal Control Officers were called to rescue several cats that appeared to be gravely ill, along with the dog.
According to the department, the house was unkempt and dirty, and had illegal electrical wiring running throughout. Code Enforcers “Red Tagged”, or condemned the house until the repairs can be made.
Sandra Lozoya was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment. Triney Hernandez was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child endangerment. Christopher Lozoya was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale. The 15-year-old juvenile was also arrested for possession of marijuana for sales.
Sandra Lozoya, according to arrest records, was charged on April 1 this year with driving with drugs in her system and possession of drug paraphernalia.
