A 23-year-old Madera man broke into an inhabited home and threatened the occupants. He was arrested and booked on Thursday, May 14,
Victor Alvarez Lopez, who lives in an apartment across from James Madison Elementary School, and right behind the Madera High School football stadium, was charged with felony burglary of an inhabited dwelling, and threatening crime with the intent to terrorize. He was arrested by Madera police and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections at 8:52 that night. Police did not reveal the location of his home invasion, or whether he knew his victims.
Bail was set at $60,000 for the offenses, which also included $5,000 for the misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. Lopez was unemployed at the time of his arrest, according to the booking report.
