ROSAMOND — A young Rosamond man is behind bars tonight after being accused of vandalizing several buildings and structures in around the City of Rosamond.
Edgar Segura, 19 of Rosamond, was booked into the Kern County Jail on eight counts of felony vandalism.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Segura was arrested on June 8 at his home in Rosamond after a two week investigation into several incidents of vandalism in the area.
Between May 29 and June 8, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office learned that numerous businesses, including an Albertson’s store, Rosamond High School, a Fastrip store, the Wayside Café, Hoffman’s Antiques, the Desert Oasis Mobile Home Park, an advertising billboard and several neighborhood walls had been tagged by a single vandal.
Based on their investigation and evidence collected, a warrant for Segura was issued. The damage from the vandalism is estimated at several thousand dollars.
