San Luis Obispo Police Hunt for Quick Vandals

San Luis Obispo Police are hunting for a suspect(s) who vandalized 11 businesses last Tuesday.

According to SLOPD, they began receiving calls around 3 a.m. regarding vandalism.

Many of the businesses were banks, and included the US Bank at 3991 S. Higuera Street; RaboBank at 2276 Broad Street; Founders Community Bank at 237 Higuera Street; Heritage Oaks Bank at 1144 Morro Street; Bank of America at 1105 Higuera Street; Union Bank at 995 Higuera Street; Union Bank at 3840 Broad Street; the Old Heritage Oaks Building at 1135 Santa Rosa Street; SESLOC at 3385 Broad Street; Chase Bank at 1235 Chorro Street; and the Apple Store at 899 Higuera Street.

All of the businesses had windows shattered by metal ball-bearing type projectiles, which police recovered. According SLOPD, the projectiles are commonly used by sling-shots or other similar types of launchers.

The damage was quite extensive regarding monetary amounts. Police estimate the value of the window in the Apple Store alone to be $20,000. Police are asking for anyone with information to contact them immediately at 781-7317.
