San Luis Obispo Police placed a man in custody for allegedly possessing child pornography last Tuesday.
According to SLOPD, their detectives recently received information stating a person living at a residence on the 1500 Block of El Tigre was in possession of child pornography. The residence belonged to Elliott Masami Yu Jing Kasadate, 19, of San Luis Obispo.
The information police used came from a detective who is trained and affiliated with the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). Based on this information, police obtained a search warrant for the residence authorizing a search for evidence of child pornography.
Detectives discovered several images and videos of children under the age of 18 engaged in various stages of sexual conduct. The images were found on the computer and other electronic devices belonging to Kasadate.
According to investigators, many of the images found revealed children who appeared to be as young as eight to ten years old. Kasadate who was home at the time of the search warrant, was placed under arrest for possession of child pornography.
Investigators stated no one else living at the residence was believed to be involved with the possession or sharing of these images and videos with the suspect. Kasadate was later booked into the SLO County Jail. His bail was set at $35,000
