Two San Jose homicides occurred within hours of each other

The San Jose Police Department is reporting that two shooting deaths occurred just hours from each other Sunday night and into early Monday, and are asking the public’s for help in finding the responsible parties.

According to SJPD Pubic Information Officer Albert Morales “On June 26, 2015 at 10:20 P.M. the San Jose Police Department 911 Communications Center received a call of a male shot in the area of Pensacola Avenue and Terilyn Avenue in San Jose.”  When patrolling officers responded to the location, they found a male victim lying on the sidewalk who appeared to have been shot several times. It was apparent that someone had shot the victim and had fled the scene.  Morales said, “The 17 year old victim was pronounced deceased a short time later at the scene.”

The San Jose Police Department Homicide Unit is currently conducting a follow up investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding this murder. The police are not releasing any more information about the incident.  Police are asking that anyone with information contact Detective Sgt. On Monday, June 27 at 2:24 A.M., the San Jose Police Department 911 Communications Center received a call of a male shot in the area of  South 2nd Street and San Carlos Street. Officers responded and located an adult male victim who had been shot at least once. The victim, later identified as 24-year-old Marvin Jackson Jr., was pronounced deceased a short time later at the hospital.

The San Jose Police Department Homicide Unit is currently conducting follow up investigation to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding this murder as well. They said there is no suspect information to release at this time. Preliminary investigation revealed that a verbal altercation occurred prior to the shooting. The victim and the suspect were likely not known to each other.
