An arrest has been made by the Madera Police Department of an allegedly violent gang member on Wednesday, July 1. According to the Madera County Department of Corrections, David Alexander Cardenas, 18, was apprehended on charges of exhibiting a firearm in a threatening manner, carrying a loaded weapon, resisting or obstructing an officer, criminal conspiracy, and promoting both criminal street gang activity and a felonious act.
The suspect turned 18 within four days of his arrest, so any prior criminal history has been kept confidential as he would have been a minor. None of his co-conspirators, who were likely still minors, were listed on the arrest report,
Cardenas was apparently visiting the area, as the booking report lists his current address as a townhome on Royal Ann Common in northeast Fremont, in the east bay area. He is also listed as unemployed.
Bail for his combined offenses, four felonies and two misdemeanors, was set at $106,000.00.
