Further charges have come to light for an alleged child sex offender in Madera as of last Monday. According to an official report released by the Madera County Department of Corrections, the Madera Sheriff’s office has charged Wilfredo Mina, 40, with four additional counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a child under 14 years old using force. Those charges were made in the Madera County Courthouse.
Mina, who works as a field laborer, was arrested last month on June 23 on one count of committing a lewd act on a child, in addition to rape and forced oral copulation. The four additional counts levied against Mina may mean new victims have come forward or additional instances have been revealed, but the names and ages of any victims have not been released. Bail was set at $400,000.00. Mina was scheduled to appear in the Madera County Superior Court today for a preliminary hearing on this case. He faces prison and a lifetime registration as a sex offender if convicted on any or all counts.
