Victim Was a 22-year-old Woman
The Salinas Police are looking for two Hispanic males in their late teens or early twenties in the homicide of 22-year-old Salinas resident Olga Ceja, who died after being shot numerous times as she was getting into her truck to go to work on July 9.
On that Thursday evening, shortly after 9 pm, a witness reported two Hispanic males in their late teens or early twenties shot numerous rounds at Ceja as she was entering her truck, which was parked in the driveway of her apartment home on Pacific Avenue in an East Salinas neighborhood.
When police responded to the call, they found Ceja lying near the truck unconscious and not breathing. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was preformed, but Ceja did not respond and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two Hispanic males were last seen fleeing to an awaiting vehicle that was parked on Pacific Avenue. The vehicle was seen heading northbound on Pacific Avenue towards Del Monte Avenue. The Salinas Police are investigating this case as gang related.

This was the City of Salinas’ 12th Homicide of the Year. Witnesses describe one of the shooters as possibly wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
