An arrest was made on Monday, July 20 in connection with gang activity that has been troubling Madera’s low income neighborhoods.
According to an official media report released by the Madera County Department of Corrections, Efren Pinedo, 20, was arrested for assault by force causing great bodily injury, participating in a felonious act with a street gang, and resisting arrest.
Pineda, who is reportedly a construction worker, was arrested for the three felony offenses at 11:25 in the morning. He resides at a home in northeast Madera.
Efren Pineda had just turned 18 in 2013 when he was arrested, on January 15, for strong arm robbery. That arrest was followed by parole violations and other incidents in August 2013, September 2014, June of this year, and most recently on Thursday, July 2. It was speculated that his gang activity my be affiliated with the Fresno Bulldog gang, but that has not been confirmed.
