Roseville Police have arrested a 17-year old male in connection with a robbery which occurred in a Target store parking lot last Thursday.
According to Roseville Police, a woman was approached by two male subjects in the parking lot of the Target store on Fairway Drive in Roseville, at about 4:50 pm on July 23. The young men appeared to have handguns and demanded the woman’s wallet. The woman refused, and was hit and knocked to the ground by the suspects. But she was able to fight both assailants off, and they ran away without taking anything. Although the woman had some scratches, she was not seriously injured in the scuffle and declined medical help.
The two were spotted leaving the parking lot in a silver sedan along with three women. Roseville Police responded and started an investigation. On July 29, the 17-year old male was arrested in South Sacramento on suspicion of robbery. Detectives have identified the three women who were with the men during the robbery. Though they were not arrested, the District Attorney’s Office is considering charging the women with conspiracy. A second male juvenile is believed to be involved in the incident, and Roseville Detectives are continuing their investigation to locate and arrest the suspect.
Roseville Police are not sure if the incident at the Target store is connected to an earlier incident which occurred at about 3:30 in the Winco parking lot, which is on the next block southeast of Target. A woman contacted Roseville Police after three people approached her in the parking lot and offered to help her with her groceries. The woman declined, and nothing was stolen, but she considered their behavior odd and contacted Roseville Police.
