SANTA ROSA – The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) issued a community bulletin regarding the arrest of a prolific graffiti vandal on Monday, August 17.

Eight cases of graffiti vandalism were filed with the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office in connection with the arrest of 23-year-old Angelo Fischetti of Sonoma.

During the course of the investigation, a SCSO deputy located numerous cans of spray paint and various spray nozzles consistent with graffiti taggers. The deputy also saw numerous items in Fischetti’s house and on his property that had graffiti tags that were consistent with vandalized sites found in several locations in the Sonoma Valley, including Boyes Hots Springs and the City of Sonoma.

Fischetti admitted to the deputy during an interview that he likes to tag. He also admitted to spraying graffiti at numerous sites using the moniker “Hope” and “Karma” in his taggings. The SCSO Graffiti Abatement Unit has cleaned up the majority of the damage.

Fischetti was also charged with making threats, being under the influence and violating probation. He had been arrested just 10 days prior, on August 7, for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level above .08%, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and violating probation. Bail in that case was set at $30,000.

Fischetti’s statement that he likes to tag is borne out by his past history of arrests. Available records show he was arrested in July of 2010, when he was 18, and charged with vandalism with greater that $5,000 damage, attempted vandalism, possession of vandalism or graffiti tools, a controlled substance, and alcohol by a minor under 21. He was arrested again just three months later for vandalism and possession of vandalism tools, along with a probation violation.

In January of 2011 he was charged with possession of a drug without a prescription, being under the influence, and of course, vandalism and a probation violation. In June of that year he was charged with both burglary and vandalism, along with resisting arrest and violating probation. Perhaps for variety’s sake, in October of 2013 he was charged with driving under the influence and without a license.
