A suspect was arrested Sunday, August 30th in connection with a robbery at a house party in West Roseville. The incident occurred early Saturday morning at about 1:30 a.m. at a house on the 1800 block of Avenida Martina. According to Roseville Police, several teens around 18 and 19 years of age were having a party while the resident’s parents were out.
Trouble started when several uninvited guests arrived. According to witnesses at the home, about five to seven men crashed the party. Several scuffles broke out, and events became more serious when one of the men pulled out a handgun. At that time, the party crashers robbed several of the guests, taking cell phones and other property, and were then seen getting into a dark-colored sedan and leaving. After the incident, one person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries sustained in the fight.
Police begin investigating the incident, which quickly led to an arrest on Sunday morning. Brent Leo Allen Mason, 19 years-old of Roseville, was arrested at an apartment complex in Rocklin. Mason was identified as the suspect who brandished the weapon at the party. He was booked into Placer County Jail on several charges including exhibiting a firearm, robbery, and conspiracy. He was also charged with violation of probation. His bail was set at $75,000.
Mason has a history with the Roseville Police. Earlier this year, on March 23, he was arrested at his home in southwest Roseville on charges of battery on a person. A few weeks later, on May 2, he and Cameron M. Martinez, 18 and also of Roseville, were both arrested on charges of making threats of violence, conspiracy, and resisting arrest. Mason was also charged with violating probation. Further details of those incidents were not available.
The Roseville Police Department continues to investigate the incident of the assaults and robbery at the party. Anyone with information on additional people involved is asked to contact Detective Marks at dmarks@roseville.ca.us.
