FRESNO – Police arrested three gang members after finding a loaded gun in their vehicle over the weekend.
Officers with the Fresno Police Department stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic infraction at around 1 a.m. early Saturday near Kearney Boulevard and Fresno Street. Police recognized the three people in the vehicle as west Fresno gang members. Two of them were also on felony probation for weapons charges, police said.
During an inspection of the vehicle, officers found a loaded 9 mm handgun under the front passenger seat. The gun’s serial numbers had been removed, police said.
Police arrested Hakim Musa Haqq, 28, on several firearms related charges. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine. Isaiah Moore, 20 and Jamar Johnson, 20, were both prohibited from associating with other gang members as part of their probation. They were arrested for violating the terms of their probation, police said.
The suspects were booked into Fresno County Jail.
Hakim Haqq has a history of arrests going back to at least 2007, when at 20-years old he was charged with driving under the influence. He was charged with probation violations in 2008 and 2009, and arrested in February 2010 for carrying a concealed and loaded weapon in a vehicle, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Over the next few years he was arrested at least six more times, on parole violations, DUI, driving with a suspended license, and resisting arrest or obstructing an officer.
Isaiah Moore‘s recent arrests include June of 2015, when he was charged with battery causing serious injury. Records show four other arrests in the past year, on charges including identity theft and use of a stolen card, possession of drugs, and firearms as a prohibited felon.
Jamar Johnson’s arrest history includes a July 4th, 2014 charge of negligent discharge of a firearm, bringing a firearm to a school zone, possession of a deadly weapon with intent to commit assault, and carrying a concealed weapon. Exactly one year later he was picked up on a parole violation.
