Ventura County – 25-year-old Brandon Stein, a resident of Newbury Park, has apparently been a very busy man, as evidenced by his September 18th arrest on various charges related to a string of burglaries throughout Ventura County over recent weeks.
It was on that date, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Peter Frank, that Thousand Oaks Patrol officers—investigating the report of a residential burglary that had taken place the prior evening—were able to identify Stein as the likely suspect in that crime.
As law enforcement personnel have a habit of informing their chain of command with suspect identifications, the patrol officers informed investigators in the Thousand Oaks Police Investigations Bureau of their suspicions regarding Stein. At that time, it was determined that Stein was also “a suspect in a recent forgery and theft” that had taken place in the area a month prior.
Shortly thereafter, “patrol deputies located and detained” Stein; at that time he was found to be in possession of stolen property associated with earlier reported burglaries within the City of Thousand Oaks. He was also found to be in possession of an unspecified amount of methamphetamine, whereupon he was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail. Stein was booked on multiple charges of burglary, forgery, grand theft, and possession of methamphetamine.
According to Frank, “investigators will continue to attempt to locate additional burglary and theft victims” for which Stein may bear some responsibility.
