SACRAMENTO—Police say they have no new developments as they continue their search for the suspects involved in the stabbing of hometown hero Spencer Stone on Thursday, October 8 in midtown Sacramento.

Police say the incident was not related to terrorism and describe the two suspects as Asian adults wearing white T-shirts and blue jeans who fled in a black Toyota Camry.

Stone, meanwhile, remains in fair condition at UC Davis Medical Center after undergoing surgery for three stab wounds he received in the upper torso following the altercation that took place at approximately 12:45 am on Thursday morning.

Stone and his friends, Alex Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler, stopped a terrorist attack two months ago in France and received international acclaim for their heroic efforts. They tackled and subdued a would-be terrorist on a Paris-bound train.

The subsequent stabbing of Stone has upset many and led to a fundraising effort to help police in their investigation. The Midtown Business Association started the effort Friday with a promise to match contributions up to $3,500.

As of Saturday night, the drive had received donations totaling over $1800, with the association contributing $1,000 of that money. The fundraising site is at www.gofundme.com/MidtownSac.
