Duane Ackerman – booking photo and image from Facebook
SAN FRANCISCO — A man was arrested Thursday, October 8 for the possession of mass quantities of child porn, police said.
Duane Ackerman, 50, was served with a search warrant at his home on the 1200 block of 26th Avenue in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood. The warrant was issued and executed by San Francisco police officers, Special Agents from the Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
During the search, according to police, investigators found numerous computers and thumbdrives containing thousands of videos and images depicting juvenile minors engaged in sex acts, including with adults.
Investigators also found hundreds of videos of Ackerman using hidden cameras to record “up-skirt” videos of unsuspecting women, police said. Many of the videos, police said, appear to have been taken at Pier 39 and Japan Town. Video recording devices that could be easily concealed were also found, police said.
Ackerman was arrested outside of his house. He faces charges including the possession, distribution, and production of child porn — as well as the use of a concealed camera to record a person for lewd purpose.
Ackerman is a professional photographer in the city.
