ROSAMOND — Kern County Sheriff’s deputies arrested five individuals on various illegal gun and drug charges during a pair of probation sweeps in the small Mojave Desert community of Rosamond on Thursday night, November 5.
Woodrow Randolph, 62, of Rosamond was booked into the Kern County Mojave Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia, while 51-year-old Anthony Turner, of Rosamond was charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
Others arrested were 43-year-old Rosamond resident Roger Hayes, 43, who was booked for being a felon possessing ammunition, felon possessing a Taser, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Hayes was also arrested this year on May 6 and 20.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the three men were taken into custody at around 7 p.m. on November 6, on the 6000 block of Firmament Street in Rosamond. “During the searches, deputies said they located ammunition, a stun gun, methamphetamine and methamphetamine smoking pipes,” said Public Information Officer Ray Pruitt.
About three hours later, deputies arrested two women during a separate sweep in the 3000 block of Melvin Street in Rosamond. “During that search deputies located methamphetamine and methamphetamine smoking pipes,” Pruitt said. “As a result, two arrests were made.”
Those arrested were 19-year-old Aja Kelley of Rosamond, who was booked for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia, and 27-year-old Angelina Howlingwolf, also of Rosamond, who was booked for being under the influence of a controlled substance during the time of her arrest. Turner, who has a lengthy criminal record, including two arrests in 2014, is being held without bail.
Randolph has had previous arrests on January 3rd, as well as July 17 and January 27th of 2014, all on drug possession charges.
