According to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, November 11, two people were found dead inside a home in rural El Dorado County on Rocky Ridge Road, in the Oak Hill area. The suspect was identified as Milo Lloyd Wallace, who resided in the home with his elderly mother. He had turned 49 years old just days before.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, On Wednesday afternoon, the suspect’s brother Matthew Wallace, 38, came to the home to help out with chores. Later in the day, the brother’s wife, Brooke Warner, was concerned when he had not arrived back at their Cameron Park residence.
Warner asked her brother to go with her to look for her husband at her mother-in-law’s house. When they arrived at the home, they were met at the door by the suspect pointing a gun at them. A short struggle occurred, but they were able to get away and call 911.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect’s brother Matthew dead behind the house. Inside the home, the suspect’s mother, identified as Sandra Wallace, 71, was also deceased.
Although both victims had been shot, an exact cause of death is pending the completion of the autopsies. The motive for the double murder is still being investigated. But officers learned there were some disagreements in the family regarding who would inherit the property.
Milo Wallace was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and murder. He was booked into Eldorado County Jail and is being held without bail.
