Sketches of the suspects based on witness descriptions
SACRAMENTO— Sheriff’s Department detectives are continuing their search for three suspects who have been accused of shooting and killing a man during a home invasion robbery last month in Walnut Grove.
Thomas Rehberg, 40, was killed Friday morning, October 22 at approximately 10:30 a.m. at a home on the 14200 block of River Road in Walnut Grove, in the southernmost region of Sacramento County along the Sacramento River.
Investigators released sketches Friday of two of the three men suspected of shooting and killing Rehberg.
Deputies said there were three people inside the residence when two men knocked the door. When it was opened, the men pushed their way inside, tied up the victims, and shot Rehberg multiple times. The other victims told police that it’s possible more people entered the home afterward.
Surveillance footage shows three suspects leaving the crime scene in a 2000 to 2005 white Chevrolet Tahoe, and are described as wearing construction-style orange vests, white helmets and construction-style boots.
The first suspect in the sketch is believed to be an African American man in his late 40s to early 50s, approximately 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 4 inches tall with short or bald hair, sideburns and a goatee. The second man in the sketch is an African American in his mid-30s to early 40s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a stocky build, dark hair and mustache. Officers said victims described the third suspect as in his late 20s to early 30s, mixed race with medium skin color and dark brown hair. He was wearing a neon-colored shirt.
