HIGHLAND – Law enforcement agencies are continuing an investigation in which six people were arrested early Monday morning in connection with a set of car burglaries. Four men and two boys were taken into custody.
Christopher Matthew Camarena, 23, Raymond Robert Enciso, 19, Edgar Gracian, 21, and Marquel Spears, 19, were booked into Central Detention Center. Two teenage boys, ages 17 and 15, were booked into San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies, receiving reports about two men breaking into a parked car, noted that items were apparently being stolen from inside.
The men fled before deputies, which received reports at 1:29 a.m., could arrive at the 27800 block of 21st St.
Upon searching the area, deputies detained six males at the intersection of Atlantic Ave. and Church St.
While deputies were questioning the six individuals, investigation discovered more cars that appeared to have been broken into, according to reports. “Evidence was located linking the suspects to the vehicle burglaries,” according to officials.
A Highland resident originally called in a report stating that a group of men were breaking into cars. Law enforcement reports did not disclose if there had been any other cases of vehicle burglaries in the area.
According to court records, both Camarena and Enciso, who have been charged with burglary and conspiracy, have been released. A court date for both men has yet to be scheduled.
There was no information available about the other two adult suspects.
