Petaluma PD and FBI Search Home, Woman Arrested for Child Abuse and Porn

PETALUMA – According to a Petaluma Police Department (PPD) Advisory, PPD detectives working in unison with FBI agents served a search warrant on a home in the 400 block of Wilson Street on Tuesday, January 5th.
A woman at the residence was arrested in connection with child abuse and child porn.
The suspect was identified as Tawnya Lynn Hopper, a 42-year-old Petaluma resident. The charges were brought as a result of an investigation, which uncovered that Hopper was acting in concert with another to commit oral copulation against a victim incapable of giving consent due to a developmental disability.
Hopper was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Sonoma County Jail. Additional charges may be filed.
During the course of the investigation an adult male was also determined to be a person of interest. The PPD and FBI are seeking assistance from the public in locating the man for follow-up purposes.
