The arrest of an allegedly violent criminal was made in Oakhurst on New Year’s Eve. According to the media report released by the Madera County Department of Corrections, the Madera Sheriff’s office arrested Sergio Mendoza, 25, for battery resulting in serious bodily injury. Oakhurst is a town located on Highway 411 in the Sierra Nevada Mountains en route to Yosemite National Park.
According to the report, Mendoza works with the Pines Resort in the nearby town of Bass Lake. The name of the alleged victim has not been released, nor just how serious the injuries are. The MCDC has yet to release a statement as to how the incident began.
Currently, Mendoza is being held in the Madera County Jail on $100,000 bond and can expect a rigid sentence.
