SLO Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography

Stephen Lemus

The San Luis Obispo Police arrested a man for allegedly possessing child pornography. According to SLOPD, detectives served a search warrant last Tuesday around 8:15 a.m. at a residence on the 2500 block of Johnson Ave.

SLO detectives recently received information about a subject at the residence who was in possession of child pornography. The warrant authorized the search for any evidence related to child pornography.

During the search detectives discovered several images and videos of children under the age of 18 engaged in various acts of sexual conduct.

Investigators state many of these children were involved in sexual acts with adults who could not be identified due to the manner in which the images were photographed or videotaped. According to investigators, some of the victim children appeared to be as young as four years old.

Police state all the evidence found were in a room belonging to Stephen Lemus, 38, of SLO who was home at the time the search warrant was served.

Investigators say enough evidence was located on Lemus’s computer to place him under arrest for possession of child pornography.

No one else living at the residence was believed to have any knowledge or involvement of Lemus’s activities with child pornography. A thorough forensic search of Lemus’s computer as well as other personal electronics devices will be conducted to determine if he has violated additional crimes related to child pornography.

Lemus was transported and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail with his bail set at $50,000.00.
