Pomona Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying three burglary suspects who have been charged with 459 PC Auto Burglary.
The individuals have been described as two long-haired Hispanic females and one Hispanic male with short hair (who at the time was wearing a Los Angeles or Oakland Raiders hoodie), in their late 20s to mid-30s, who committed auto burglary by breaking into a car parked on the 800 block of Sobre Colinas in the city of Pomona on January 16.
The three suspects subsequently stole several of the victim’s credit cards, then proceeded to go on a shopping spree, purchasing items at three retail locations in San Dimas, Upland, and Pomona. None of the store representatives mentioned seeing any weapons.
The suspects’ vehicle is described as a white Honda Civic, late ‘90s or early 2000, with black door handles and tinted windows. The hub caps have a “swoosh” pattern and the tail lights are wrap-around style.
When asked if this has become a typical occurrence, “Unfortunately, yes, this is a common crime,” said Detective Roger Iwig. “With the current sentencing parameters, we’ve seen an increase in this type of criminal activity. The sentencing has fallen off, which puts them right back on the street, and this is their lifestyle. It goes hand-in-hand with drug use.”
When asked where these criminals are coming from, Detective Iwig said, “We’re getting a proliferation of people from anywhere in the Inland Empire for this type of crime. If the public would observe –safely– and get the license plate number … that would be fantastic.”
If you recognize any of the suspects, please contact Detective Iwig at (909) 620-2095 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Please refer to incident 16-5854.
