Easy access mail boxes on the 25000 block of Van Leuven
LOMA LINDA – Two suspects, reportedly seen stealing mail, were taken into custody on Thursday in an ongoing investigation that began on February 29.
Justin Ryan Kimbro, 29, and Vanessa Wilson, 24, have court dates scheduled to appear on forgery charges, along with charges for possession of stolen property and conspiracy. Both are Loma Linda residents.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies credited area citizens for noting the suspects.
Deputies originally received an emergency call on February 29 about a vehicle burglary that took place near the intersection of Poplar Avenue and Van Leuven Avenue. The victim told authorities she spotted Kimbro and Wilson walking near her home, breaking into cars and mailboxes on the street shortly before noon.
Once law enforcement began investigating, they eventually discovered multiple victims from Loma Linda, along with nearby communities Grand Terrace and San Bernardino.
When deputies arrived at the 25000 block of Van Leuven, they found Wilson with stolen property, detained and arrested her, booking her at the Central Detention Center. She was cited and released. Kimbro fled on foot and was not located.
Follow-up investigation led detectives to the last known address for Kimbro and Wilson, discovering property that belonged to multiple victims.
On Thursday, March 3, Kimbro and Wilson were seen stealing mail from Loma Linda residents, quickly captured by deputies and arrested on multiple charges – both booked on felony charges. Law enforcement organized the stolen mail, eventually returning it to its owners.
Kimbro was scheduled to appear in San Bernardino Superior Court on Monday, bail set at $200,000. Wilson, who has been assigned the same bail, will also appear on March 7 in Superior Court.
