BAKERSFIELD — Three Bakersfield gang members were arrested on Monday after leading police on a high-speed pursuit.
Trevon Foreman, 20, 18-year-old Alan Ellison and a 15-year-old unidentified male juvenile, all of Bakersfield, were booked for possession of an assault weapon/firearm, conspiracy and participation in a street gang.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident began at around 9 p.m. on March 14, when officers tried to pull over a wrong way driver in the area of Monterey Street and Alta Vista Drive in central Bakersfield.
“The driver refused to yield, and a short vehicle pursuit ensued,” said Public Information Officer Gary Carruesco. “During the pursuit, the occupants of the suspect vehicle discarded a loaded assault weapon, which was recovered by pursuing officers.”
Upon the conclusion of the vehicle pursuit, all three occupants of the suspect vehicle were taken into custody without further incident. No one was hurt during the pursuit.
Both Foreman and Ellison were subsequently booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Main Jail and are being held on $750,000 bail. The male juvenile was transported and housed at the Kern County.
