Details of a disturbing case has been released to the public after a Madera man was arrested for pedophilia on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the official media report, which was provided by the Madera County Department of Corrections, 27-year-old Fernando Mendoza was apprehended on two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. The arrest was made by officers of the Madera Police Department.
According to the report, Mendoza currently works as a butcher. The name and age of the victim, as well as number of alleged victims, is being withheld for confidentiality reasons. His specific relationship to the victim/s is unknown.
His bail is set at $200,000 and, if convicted, Mendoza could spend decades in prison and will be categorized as a registered sex offender for the rest of his life according to Megan’s Law.
