SANTA CLARA — A complaint has been filed against 26-year-old Alicia Plancarte for charges of commercial robbery, stemming from an April 1st incident in which she was caught shoplifting at the Target Store located at 2004 El Camino Real.
She was found to have been collecting several items including a leather purse, blue Gatorade, body spray, pink shirt, boyshorts, metal rings, a mini-skirt, and cropped jeggings. Fashion jewelry and other personal items were also discovered.
When she was seen leaving the store, loss prevention employees detained her and took her to the loss prevention office in handcuffs to wait for police. One employee was bitten on the arm as she tried to escape. She also attempted to escape numerous times while in detention, even going so far as to kick at the employees.
As it so happened, a friend of Plancarte’s was still out in the store placing items into their cart. She was asked to leave and no follow-up was conducted.
When asked about the items, Plancarte said she had stolen the Gatorade and body spray from a CVS in Sunnyvale earlier that day. A follow-up with the manager at CVS confirmed that thefts had taken place earlier.
“That was an accident, just a reaction,” Plancarte later said of the bite. “I don’t remember what happened.”
The next court date has been scheduled for April 19, 2016 at 1:30 PM.
