Two Suspects Arrested in Armed Robberies, A Third Remains at Large

MORENO VALLEY – Following two robberies at the same pharmacy, investigators were able to identify and arrest two suspects, including one who fled out of state, and are currently seeking a third.
On March 30, 2016, the Moreno Valley Police Department received a report of an armed robbery at a pharmacy in the 12000 block of Perris Boulevard, city of Moreno Valley. According to witnesses, two suspects brandished handguns and forced employees to hand over narcotics and cash. The two suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
A second robbery at the same pharmacy occurred on April 15, 2016. The robbery played out in the same with two armed suspects with handguns stealing narcotics and cash. Investigators from the Moreno Valley Robbery Suppression Team and the Moreno Gang Team took over the investigation and considered the two crimes linked.
Investigators ultimately identified Steffen Fields, 23 years old from Moreno Valley, as a suspect in both robberies. He was then located and arrested in the city of Moreno Valley. According to a Riverside Sheriff’s Department press release, Fields was charged with two counts of armed robbery with an enhancement for his prior violent crimes and a parole hold.
A second suspect in the initial robbery, DeJohn Miller, 22 years of Moreno Valley, was also identified. Miller fled the state and was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada at the end of May 2016 on a parole violation. He is pending extradition to California for the robbery charge.
Investigators are attempting to identify and locate the second suspect involved in the robbery on April 15, 2016 and are requesting that anyone with additional information on the crimes contact the department.
