Amber Alert Ends After One Month, Infant Son Safe

Satima Michelle Purnell and her child

SANTA CLARA — The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a San Jose woman who had taken her infant son after losing custody. Her 10-month-old son, Davione, was located on August 11, 2016.

Despite a month long search, Satima Michelle Purnell, 32, of San Jose, is still at large.

According to the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office, “On July 9, 2016, Purnell – who also uses the last name of “Clark” – was informed that she no longer had custody of Davione.”  That is when the mother took her son and absconded from the area.  An amber alert was sent out searching for a four-door silver Hyundai sedan with the license plate number 6BXN752.

“We are concerned for Davione’s health and his safety,’’ Deputy District Attorney James Cahan said at the time.

Police are describing Purnell is a 5”1”, 120 lbs African-American woman with brown eyes and black hair. She most notably wears several facial piercings with multiple jewelry near her lip, upper cheek, and eyes.  Purnell also has multiple tattoos that show a teddy bear on her left bicep with the word Aaniah and Prince.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office is asking that if you see her please call “911”.
