A Templeton CHP officer was recently involved in a high-speed chase that involved three motorcycles.
According to CHP, around 4 p.m. on Saturday the officer observed three motorcyclists riding southbound on Highway 101 near Spring Street in Paso Robles at speeds close to 100 mph.
The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the three motorcyclists, but they sped up and attempted to evade the officer, reaching speeds in excess of 120 mph.
Additionally, the motorcyclists used the on- and off-ramps to avoid being caught by the CHP officer.
The officer called for reinforcements, including a CHP helicopter that was able to follow the three motorcycles to an address in San Luis Obispo at Graves Avenue.
The three were apprehended and arrested. The suspects were identified as Jonathan Alexander Martinez, 19, of Perris, Walter Arreolarodriguez, 21, of Santa Clara and Ulises Penalopez, 21, of Mountain View.
All three were arrested and were charged with suspicion of felony evading. CHP states the motorcycles were impounded.
