SAN JOSE — The City of San Jose’s Police Department is reporting its 37th homicide, a stabbing on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 10:19 AM. According to Sgt. Enrique Garcia with the San Jose Police Department, “San Jose Police Officers were dispatched to a possible dead body in a field behind apartments located in the 800 block of Jeanne Avenue.”
61-year-old Valentine Cortesosguera, who was a known transient, was the 8th homeless homicide victim reported this year. With one homicide of a homeless person solved, police are asking for information leading to solving seven others.
On Monday, June 27, 2016, at 9:20 PM, San Jose Police officers responded to the 1700 block of Cape Aston Court on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and discovered the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to Garcia a number of unknown suspects were seen driving away in a black 2008-2013 4 door Lexus. The suspects pulled in front of the victim’s vehicle blocking the driver as one passenger exited the vehicle and shot and killed 26-year old Justin Tran.
On Friday, March 11, 2016, at 10:57 PM, San Jose Police officers responded to the Bon Mua Café, a well-known Vietnamese bar located at 1937 Tully Road, on reports of a person shot. The neighboring store front has seen multiple shootings in the past. Police believe the shooting was gang related. Video surveillance has been released in hopes of identifying the shooting suspect (shown below). The victim was identified as 43-year-old Brian Le.
