Fresno Police Rescue Mother, Unborn Child after Shooting by Husband

FRESNO — On October 19th at approximately 8 AM, police officers were dispatched to a residence on South Meridian after reports of a shooting involving one victim.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the victim was seven months pregnant and had been shot by her husband, 32-year-old Manuel Servin. The suspect remained in the home with the victim and a standoff began.
Members of the Fresno Police Department SWAT Team arrived to attempt negotiations with Servin, during which he fired several shots from inside the home. They were eventually able to enter the home after a successful diversion tactic and arrest Servin without further incident.
The victim, still alive, was also rescued and immediately transported to a hospital for an emergency C-section. While her identity remains confidential, it has been reported that the baby is in good health.
Meanwhile, Servin was booked for attempted murder and and three counts of child endangerment, with more charges being considered.
