MVPD arrests man in connection with July stabbing

MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Mountain View Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect wanted in connection to a gang-related stabbing which occurred over the 4th of July weekend of this year.

According to Mountain View Police, “Just before 10 PM on July 2, Mountain View officers responded to Rengstorff Park, located at 201 South Rengstorff Avenue, after we received a report that a stabbing had just occurred.”

The victim suffered from multiple knife wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for many severe injuries.

According to Mountain View Police, “Sunnyvale resident Daniel Martinez, 19, was identified as a suspect in the stabbing.”  Police arrested him on October 20th.

Martinez was was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and violating his parole. He is being held on a no-bail warrant in the Santa Clara County Main Jail and is expected to appear in court on October 24, 2016, at 1:30 PM in Department 23.
